Peter Troy - The Publicist holds monthly Radio awareness courses at the studios of Radio Teesdale in Barnard Castle, County Durham and is the sponsor of Radio Teesdale "Drive Time" programme, Monday to Friday, 5pm - 7pm.
The half-day course is aimed at the owners / managers of small businesses who seek to publicise their business through the expanding medium of radio.
The course covers all types of interview techniques getting the best out the interview, whilst at the same time getting an appreciation of the workings of a typical radio station and how best to publicise a business or product.
The object of the day is to learn from the "Voice of Experience" in a working Radio Station. Expert tuition is given by John Atkinson while Station Manager Peter Dixon gives participants an understanding of the working of a busy radio station. Training under actual conditions with structured interviews increases confidence and makes the experience of broadcasting less daunting.
